The Dangerous Games People Play
Hello, Everyone! Well the reason for this particular blog is because of the increasing questions that I receive in regards to the Ouija Board, and other types of "spirit boards" and even the popular "Angel Boards". Now, I would like to remind you that these are my personal opinions based on own experiences as well as others that I have talked to about this. So, even if you may not necessarily agree with me, I hope that this will plant a seed that will make you think twice about using them or at least taking the necessary precautions.
The other day I received a call from my best friend's teenage son about some friends of his having used an Ouija Board and were now experiencing all types of phenomena. He said that his friends were scared out of their minds and now didn't know what to do to about it. He gave them the same lecture that I always give people who are interested in using them. Now, for those of you who may not know what they are, I have provided a definition that has been given in the "Element Encyclopedia of the Psychic World" written by Theresa Cheung:
"Ouija Board: A device used to seek out answers to questions about the past, present and future
and messages from ghosts, spirits and other entities in spiritualism. The name is taken from the French (oui) and the German (ja) words for 'yes' and it is often thought to be one of the most controversial methods of spirit communication because in untrained hands it is believed to attract evil spirits." Even Edgar Cayce called it a "dangerous toy".
My experiences with the Ouija Board started when I was a teenager spending the summer at my grandmother's house. My cousin and I decided to buy one because we had heard about it and quite frankly, were curious (isn't that how it always starts?). After playing with it a few times (okay, I admit, we were obsessed, after all, how else were we going to find out if a particular guy we were interested in liked us?) strange things started happening. At first we thought it was pretty cool, until it became scary and then when a Christian friend of ours advised us to ask who it really was that we were talking to (and they have to if you say, "In the Name of Jesus" according to her) and it admitted that it was a "demon" and not some sweet old lady like we had been originally told, well buddy, that was enough for me!
Okay, I will be honest and admit that some years later I began playing with it again and all I can share about that right now is that it was a very, very bad idea and needless to say, I had finally learned my lesson. So, regardless of whatever type of spirit board it is, or what it claims to do, it opens up a "portal" giving very little control (no matter how seasoned the user) of who or what may come through. Once that "unwelcomed" visitor has made themselves at home, it may be no time before they invite their friends as well and you find yourself in the center of an unwanted party.
As always, if you have any questions, concerns or comments all you have to do is drop me a line. Until next time, Blessings to you and your loved ones!
